The name Bestevaer is on the wish list of many who would like to cast off the lines for the really big voyage at some point. The yachts from KM Yachtbuilders in Makkum on the IJsselmeer, which are welded in a round aluminium frame, are considered to be particularly safe, robust and reliable. And they are very exclusive: the 24 Bestevaer line boats between 45 and 76 feet in length that have been built to date were realised exclusively as one-offs at the customer's request, i.e. they are purely custom projects.
Now, however, the shipyard wants to make the attractive Bestevaer concept accessible to a wider range of buyers. In collaboration with Dutch designer Gerard Dykstra (Dykstra Naval Architects), the shipyard has now presented a genuine series boat. The Bestevaer 45ST Pure comes as an offer with fixed specifications, a defined price list and only a few variants for the interior fittings.
The 14.45 metre long and 4.05 metre wide 45ST Pure can be ordered in two versions: with a fixed keel (2.15 metre draught) or with a hydraulic swivel keel (1.40-2.95 metre draught) with which the boat can also navigate shallow waters and also fall dry. Like all yachts in the Bestevaer line, the new series boat naturally also has the brand-typical pilothouse, which provides excellent protection for the crew in wind and weather and in which you can also sit comfortably in the harbour with plenty of all-round visibility. The 45ST Pure is equipped with a strong two-saling rig from Seldén and can be fitted with a removable cutter stay for stormy conditions on request. Incidentally, the boat is steered exclusively with the tiller - wheel steering is not provided as an option. It also has a folding bathing platform at the stern.
For the interior, the customer can request a layout with two or three cabins. However, the layout remains with just one wet room with a separable shower option in the centre of the ship. The first vessel in the 45ST Pure series (a version with a canting keel) is currently under construction at KM Yachtbuilders. For the standard version (fixed keel version), the shipyard quotes a price of 589,050 euros (gross ex shipyard, including sails).
